(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota lawmakers are approving a bill involving funding for the State Library. An amended version of House Bill 10-41 was passed unanimously by the State Senate yesterday. It’s considered to be a “compromise” between supporting State Library services and reducing the state’s budget. The bill originally cut programs such as support for summer reading programs and Interlibrary Loans. An amendment restored most of those programs but still made cuts to the State Library Board. The bill now heads to Governor Rhoden’s desk.
