(Argyle, SD) — Two Rapid City men are in custody after a standoff at a horse barn over the weekend. The incident happened Saturday in the southern Black Hills. According to authorities, witnesses reported two men burglarizing storage units near Custer. They were then found by drone, barricaded in a barn south of Pringle. Both were believed to be armed with weapons stolen from one of the storage units. After hours of failed talks, the two men finally surrendered when Rapid City’s Special Response Team arrived with their armored Bearcat vehicle. Those suspects have now been identified as 50-year-old Jonathon Chamley and 47-year-old Gabriel Garcia, who both face several charges on top of already-lengthy criminal histories.
