(Bismarck, ND) — Farmers are expanding their products sold directly to North Dakotans. The North Dakota Senate passed House Bill 1131 which allows farmers to sell butter and cream containing raw milk to consumers. Farmers were already allowed to sell raw milk to North Dakotans as raw milk products cannot be sold to wholesalers. Although the Senate passed the bill unanimously it made an amendment requiring farmers to label raw milk products. This sends the bill back to the House for another vote before approval.
