(Bismarck, ND) — Term limits maximums could double in length for North Dakota lawmakers. The state Senate narrowly passed the proposal in a 24-23 vote, meaning citizens could be asked to vote on it on the next ballot. The latest resolution looking to increase the limits from eight years to 16 years, allowing legislators to serve four terms of up to four years each. Term limits can only be changed through voter approval.
