ND Lawmakers Focus On Political Ads

(Bismarck, ND) — State lawmakers are combating false and misleading information. The state Senate passed a bill Wednesday to add political advertisements to the North Dakota Century Code. A class A misdemeanor carries a punishment of up to one year in jail plus a three-thousand-dollar fine already exists for false or misleading info on billboards, pamphlets, and other traditional media sources. Amendments to the bill force it back to the House for approval before it can head to the governor’s desk.
