(Deadwood, SD) — A Wyoming man is in custody after a standoff in Deadwood yesterday afternoon. Authorities say 31-year-old Darryk Shrader from Newcastle, Wyoming, was arrested after they found him holding a gun at the Deadwood Mountain Grand. Officers barricaded the parking ramp and notified surrounding businesses. According to authorities, Shrader surrendered just before 5 p.m. He allegedly fled police over a domestic violence situation on Monday before being spotted in a different vehicle yesterday. During the standoff, several county buildings, including the courthouse, were closed and students from the Deadwood Elementary School had to be picked up at alternate sites. No one was reported to be harmed during the incident.
