(Bismarck, ND) — The decision of an abortion ruling in North Dakota is being resurfaced. The state of North Dakota asked the state Supreme Court to overturn South Central District Judge Burce Romanick’s decision to strike down an abortion ban signed into law by former Governor Doug Burgum. The ban would have outlawed abortion in most cases expect for rape or incest in the first six weeks of pregnancy. Burgum’s ruling that pregnant North Dakotans have a fundamental right to medical freedom could be overturned to the 2023 ban.
