(DES MOINES, IA) — According to multiple reports, Drake has hired South Dakota State head coach Eric Henderson to be the Bulldogs next coach.
According to ESPN, Henderson will replace Ben McCollum, who was hired earlier this week as the coach at Iowa. Henderson will look to continue the recent success of the Bulldogs, who have gone to three consecutive NCAA tournaments and four of the past five. Drake’s past three head coaches — McCollum, Darian DeVries (Indiana) and Niko Medved (Minnesota) — were hired by Big Ten schools this month.
Henderson has guided the Jackrabbits to two NCAA tournaments in the past four seasons, while winning four Summit League regular-season championships in six years as the program’s head coach.
