(Bismarck, ND) — State chambers could override Governor Kelly Armstrong’s first veto. Armstrong raised concerns about a proposal for a non-refundable tax credit supporting prison industries. He cited potential violations of the Dormant Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution due to the proposal favoring an in-state manufacturing agency. However, the state Senate received the two-thirds majority vote to override the veto, with the House yet to vote.
