(Sioux Falls, SD) — South Dakota’s biggest school district in Sioux Falls is preparing to cut three million dollars from its budget. But Sioux Falls is not alone. Smaller school districts like Flandreau and Dell Rapids are also making some tough decisions. Districts are tightening their belts after lawmakers in Pierre decided on a one-point-two-five percent funding increase for education. COVID-19 money is also running out. On top of that, there are federal funding unknowns with the Department of Education.
