Latest Standing Rock Pipeline Lawsuit Dismissed

(Bismarck, ND) — A federal judge is tossing out the most recent lawsuit filed by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The suit sought to shut down the Dakota Access Pipeline. Standing Rock claims the Corps violated federal law, allowing the pipeline to operate without an easement. The judge said the tribe must wait until the Army Corps completes an environmental impact study, after which they will decide whether or not to grant the easement.
