Multi-Billion Dollar NIL Lawsuit Heading To Court In South Dakota

(Sioux Falls, SD) — South Dakota and its two NCAA Division I universities are going to court over a nearly three-billion dollar Name, Image, and Likeness settlement. Federal Judge Karen Schreier granted the state’s motion to remand to court yesterday. University of South Dakota and South Dakota State University, the state, and the State Board of Regents all say that the two-point-eight billion dollar NCAA NIL settlement is unfair to smaller D-1 schools. They are arguing that their share of that settlement is disproportionate to larger colleges.
