(Sioux Falls, SD) — A suspect is in custody after shooting a police officer in Western Sioux Falls yesterday. Officers attempted to arrest 25-year-old Samir Yasser Albaidhani on multiple warrants around 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. When officers approached Albaidhani near 12th Street and Western Avenue, he reportedly opened fire, hitting one officer, and then fled the scene. The suspect was also shot, and taken into custody. Both the officer and the suspect are expected to recover from their injuries.
