(Pierre, SD) — The Division of Criminal Investigation is looking into two separate officer-involved shootings with the same suspect. That suspect, 25-year-old Samir Albaidhani [[ Sa-mir All-Bai-Don-ee ]], is accused of shooting an officer in Sioux Falls, taking off in a stolen SUV, and then shooting at a state trooper. Court documents say the man hadn’t been out of prison long. Albaidhani was released on parole at the end of October and was listed as a parole absconder. He had been serving time for burglary and grand theft in Minnehaha County. According to court documents, the 25-year-old has a history of stealing guns. Albaidhani was hurt, as well as the Sioux Falls officer. Both are expected to recover. The state trooper was not hurt. The DCI will release statements after its investigations.
