ND Senate Strikes Down Self-Defense Bill Proposal

(Bismarck, ND) — State legislators can’t agree on a proposal to prohibit felons from claiming self-defense. The North Dakota Senate struck down the bill this week, with those against it saying it would be un-American to take away a felon’s right to claim self-defense in a voluntary confrontation involving the use of a gun. Supporters argue that the bill targets specific scenarios of a felon intentionally using guns unlawfully.
