Property Tax Credit Bill Sees Approval From ND Lawmakers

(Bismarck, ND) — State lawmakers approve of a proposal to increase the property tax credit for North Dakota homeowners. The bill would spend over 400-million-dollars to increase property tax credit from 500 to one-thousand-250-dollars a year. The proposal would also increase the threshold for people who qualify for the homestead tax credit, increase the renter’s refund program to 600-dollars a year, and ensure limits to how much local cities or towns can raise property taxes. The state Senate passed the bill’s amended version, which will go back to the House for approval.
