(Bismarck, ND) — State lawmakers want to reconstruct how school transportation is funded. Instead of the current model that offers a fixed grant each year, North Dakota school districts could be reimbursed for each student who needs transportation. Factors for the change include district size, total buildings serviced, and mileage. The state Senate amended the House proposal, which requires a second vote by the House before being sent to the governor’s desk.
