(Pierre, SD) — There’s a possibility South Dakota could become the new home of TikTok. Governor Rhoden says he’s supporting a push to bring the social media giant to the Mount Rushmore State. He is endorsing Wyoming-based Rasner Media in its effort to purchase TikTok after having recent discussions with Rasner. Rasner Media has made a near 50-billion-dollar bid to purchase the company. South Dakota was actually the first state to ban TikTok over security concerns under its Chinese ownership before President Trump ordered the company to either sell or face a ban nationwide in the U.S. Rhoden says his growing partnership with Rasner could lead the company to put TikTok’s headquarters in South Dakota if Rasner lands the deal.
