(Bismarck, ND) — President Trump is giving North Dakota power plants a pollution exemption. Five plants received a waiver from the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards pollution rule finalized last April by the Biden administration after Trump’s recent executive order. The list of exempted power plants includes over 65 locations nationwide, including North Dakota’s Antelope Valley, Leland Olds, Milton R. Young Station, Coal Creek Station, and Coyote Station. All listed plants now have until mid-2029 to start complying with the air pollution regulations.
