(Pierre, SD) — The future of a massive carbon capture pipeline through South Dakota is no more for now. Yesterday, the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission voted 2-1 to deny the permit application from Summit Carbon Solutions. It was the last chance for the company to prove it was still possible. However, Summit can file another application in the future because the denial was without prejudice. Several landowners attended Tuesday’s meeting, showing their support for the commission’s final decision.
