(Mitchell, SD) — Davison and Hanson counties will now receive ambulance services through Mitchell EMS. The district was created after a special election with 95 percent of votes being ‘yes.’ Another election to decide the members of the ambulance board is set for June 17th. The service is contingent on the new ambulance board deciding to fund 700-thousand dollars in employee payroll, benefits, gear and training. This comes after the City of Mitchell previously announced coverage would be changing at the beginning of next year to no longer provide EMS outside of city limits unless there is a way to fund six more employees to help cover those services.
