(Sioux Falls, SD) — A murder trial is now underway in Sioux Falls. Darrian Johnson is accused of first-degree murder for the 2022 shooting death of 26-year-old Kaisean Tyler. Almost three years later, witnesses took the stand yesterday inside the Minnehaha Courthouse to share what they remember from that night. According to police, a fight over a woman ended in gunshots at an apartment resulting in Tyler’s death. Witnesses described a love triangle involving Johnson and two women who lived in the building. Johnson has asked for a bench trial, meaning his fate will be in the hands of a judge rather than a jury. The trial is expected to last a week.
