Big Third Inning Lifts NDSU Baseball Past Minnesota, 6-3

MINNEAPOLIS – The North Dakota State baseball team scored four runs in the third inning to help pick up a 6-3 win over Minnesota on Tuesday night at Siebert Field.

After both teams traded runs in the opening frame, the Bison (15-26, 11-10 Summit) erupted for four runs on four hits in the third inning to build a 5-1 advantage. The two teams then worked through two scoreless innings before Aiden Schenk, who was making his Bison debut, connected on his first career home run to make the score 6-2 in the sixth. The Gophers attempted to make a late rally with an RBI single in the eighth, but NDSU went on to pick up the 6-3 victory.

NDSU posted 10 hits as a team with Schenk delivering two hits, including one triple and one home run to go along with one RBI and one run.
