County Auditors Talk SD Primary Election

(Pierre, SD) — It’s Primary Election Day in South Dakota and county auditors are prepared. Minnehaha County Auditor Leah Anderson is predicting a 30-to-40 percent turnout today. That’s supposed to help a rough start following the county only receiving two-thousand absentee ballots out of the 140-thousand registered voters. Absentee voting was also slow in Lincoln County, according to County Auditor Sheri Lund. She says she’s hoping to see a 20 to 30 percent turnout today. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. this morning until 7 p.m. local time, and locations and information can be found on the Secretary of State’s Office website.
