(Pierre, SD) — Governor Kristi Noem says the state has received federal disaster assistance for the historic flooding earlier this summer. In a news release on Thursday, Noem said that 25 counties are receiving assistance from FEMA.
According to the release, the disaster assistance is available for state, tribal and local governments, as well as eligible non-profit organizations. Those in any of the 25 affected counties can go online to apply by visiting disasterassistance.gov.
The following 25 counties are eligible for the assistance: Aurora, Bennett, Bon Homme, Brule, Buffalo, Charles Mix, Clay, Davison, Douglas, Gregory, Hand, Hanson, Hutchinson, Jackson, Lake, Lincoln, McCook, Miner, Minnehaha, Moody, Sanborn, Tripp, Turner, Union, and Yankton.
