Two Dead From Falling Into Farm Silo

(Volga, SD) — Two people are dead after falling into a farm silo near Volga. It happened Saturday when the two were working on the damaged roof of the silo. Authorities say it’s 80 feet tall and was nearly full. Both were trapped inside and may have affected by toxic gas. The victims are being identified as 51-year-old Larry Dalzell from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and 41-year-old Randi Vandekieft of Warner Robins, Georgia. The men were working for Heartland Tank Incorporated. OSHA continues to investigate with help from Brookings County officials.
