Whooping Cranes Start Heading South

(Bismarck, ND) — In a true sign that winter is on the way, whooping cranes are beginning their fall migration. North Dakotans may hear the distinct bugle call as the birds make begin their 25-hundred-mile journey from their nesting grounds in Alberta and the Northwest Territories. Their destination is the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge in Texas.
