Klobuchar Announces Federal Approval Of MN Broadband Expansion Plan

(Washington, DC) — A plan to expand broadband access in Minnesota has received federal approval. DFL Senator Amy Klobuchar announced yesterday that the U.S. Department of Commerce has approved Minnesota’s plan for expanding broadband. The approval means the state can use federal funding on projects that provide affordable high-speed internet access, especially in rural areas. The state can now begin selecting organizations that will receive money through the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment program.
