North Dakota Defendants Among Those Pardoned By Trump

(Washington, DC) — At least two men with North Dakota ties are among those being pardoned by President Trump for their roles in the January 6th Capitol riot. Rockne Earles of Oriska and Damian Johnston, who once led the North Dakota Young Republicans chapter, both had their cases dismissed Tuesday. Both had pleaded guilty to charges but had not yet been sentenced. Prosecutors are also moving to dismiss the case of Fargo native Eric Zeis. Trump on Monday issued pardons and commutations to nearly 15-hundred defendants charged in the 2021 attack on the Capitol.
