(Washington, DC) — North Dakota’s U.S. delegation has mixed feelings about President Trump’s pardon of the Capitol rioters. Senator John Hoeven said Wednesday that he hasn’t reviewed the pardons, but that “in general” he believes someone who commits violent acts should face “a commensurate penalty.” Senator Kevin Cramer said he was disappointed that the pardons were not issued on a case-by-case basis, but added that he didn’t like Biden’s pardons either. Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak criticized Biden for pardoning Leonard Peltier, who was convicted of killing two FBI agents in 1975 during a shootout on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
