U.S. Wheat Associates Board Elects New Officer

The U.S. Wheat Associates Board of Directors elected new officers for the organization’s 2024-2025 fiscal year at their meeting on January 15 in Washington, D.C. Mike Carstensen of Almira, Washington, was newly elected as the organization’s next Secretary-Treasurer and will take office in July 2025.
“As a farmer, I believe we have to engage in activities that propel our industry forward,” Carstensen said. “I know the success of our market development efforts is critical to the success and sustainability of any operation.”
Carstensen also says he’s very familiar with the great work done by the U.S. Wheat Associates staff and says it’s an honor to support their efforts to help guide the organization in representing wheat farmers from across the country. At the July board meeting in Boise, Idaho, current Vice Chairman Jim Pellman of North Dakota will take the office of Chairman. Pellman has been farming since 1990.
