(Detroit Lakes, MN) — A Minnesota state senator arrested for burglary in Becker County last year is now facing a new felony charge. Prosecutors added the charge of possession of burglary or theft tools to the case against Senator Nicole Mitchell yesterday. Court documents indicate Mitchell had a flashlight and a crowbar in her possession when she allegedly broke into her stepmother’s home in Detroit Lakes last April. Mitchell will be tried after the current session of the Minnesota legislature.
