Cubs, Dodgers Kick Off Spring Training Thursday In Arizona

(Phoenix, AZ) — The defending World Series champions are back on the diamond. The Dodgers kick off the first game of Spring Training against the Cubs on Thursday from Phoenix. Los Angeles had another big offseason after signing two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell and Japanese pitching phenom Roki Sasaki. Chicago made headlines on the trade market earlier in the winter, acquiring three-time All-Star Kyle Tucker from the Astros.

Teams across the league already sent their full squads to Arizona for Cactus League Play or Florida for Grapefruit League action. Five more games are on the slate for Friday including another matchup between LA and Chicago. Elsewhere, Aaron Judge and the Yankees battle the Rays in Tampa while Fernando Tatis Jr. and the Padres square off against the Mariners in Peoria.

The Minnesota Twins are close to returning to the diamond for a Spring Training game. The Twins host the Braves at Lee Health Sports Complex on Saturday. Minnesota has not announced a starting pitcher for the game, which starts at 12:05PM on Saturday.
