(Sioux Falls, SD) — A second person is under arrest in connection to a missing baby from Sioux Falls found safe earlier this week. Authorities found seven-month-old Chosen Butler and 38-year-old Betty Cross in Detroit, Michigan. Cross was arrested Wednesday for first-degree kidnapping. But Sam Clemens with Sioux Falls Police revealed during yesterday’s briefing that she was found with an accomplice. It was another Sioux Falls woman, identified as Taylor Edwards, who allegedly helped Cross bring the baby across state lines. According to Sioux Falls Police, the baby was temporarily placed in Cross’s care, but she refused to return him. Baby Chosen was reported missing last Friday before an arrest warrant was issued Tuesday. Cross is currently awaiting extradition back to South Dakota.
