(Bismarck, ND) — A new state bill would legalize charter schools in North Dakota. The Senate bill introduced Tuesday would establish guidelines for state charter schools, including they must be open to anyone and not based on religion. KFYR says the bill was approved by the Senate and is now in the House. Bismarck Senator Michelle Axtman called the legislation “a way to drive and increase innovation within our public school system without taking away from our traditional public schools.”
