(Bismarck, ND) — Breast cancer screening costs won’t be cut for North Dakotans. The state Senate voted against a bill proposal prohibiting deductibles, co-pays, coinsurance, or other cost-sharing requirements from out-of-pocket costs for supplemental or diagnostic breast examinations. Mammograms, MRIs, and ultrasounds for breast cancer screening would have been included. Instead, a 24-22 vote against the approval was backed by beliefs that the bill would have increased costs for other people in the same insurance pool.
