(Bismarck, ND) — Books containing explicit materials could be further restricted in North Dakota’s public and school libraries. The state legislature advanced a bill to the governor’s desk requiring that any sexual content in libraries be designated to areas that aren’t easily accessible to minors. If passed, the proposal would add to a 2023 law that bans sexually explicit materials from public libraries’ children’s sections, and allows people to ask libraries to remove such content they find to be “inappropriate.”
