2.2 Million Approved For National Guard Troops At The Border

(Bismarck, ND) — A two-point-two-million dollar loan has been approved by the North Dakota Emergency Commission to send National Guard troops to the southern border. The deployment was ordered by North Dakota Governor Doug Burgam earlier this month as part of “Operation Loan Star”. The initiative was launched by Texas Governer Gregg Abbott in 2021, with the goal of improving border security and combatting the flow of illegal drugs into the country. The loan will be paid back over time with taxpayer money.
