(Bismarck, ND) — There were a total of 60 oil and produced water spills within a one-week period at production sites across North Dakota. The spills happened between January 11th and January 18th in parts of Dunn, McKenzie, Mountrail, and Moberg counties. In total, the oil and gas division reported that more than 7-thousand barrels of produced water and 829 barrels of crude oil were spilled. The spills impacted agricultural and rangelands, and North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality crews will continue to inspect and monitor the affected areas.
