(Bismarck, ND) — An audit of North Dakota’s state auditor has found no “red flags.” A state bill passed in 2023 called for an international accounting firm to evaluate the state office after local governments complained about the costs of the agency’s services. The results of the audit were announced Thursday at a meeting of the Fiscal Review Committee in Bismarck, where a spokesperson for the accounting firm said they didn’t find any “red flags” at the agency, and that “things are working exactly as you expect the state auditor to do.” State Auditor Josh Gallion called the audit “a waste of taxpayer money.”
