(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota’s top domestic violence organization is changing its name. The Council on Abused Women’s Services has been known for decades as CAWS. In a news release, the organization says it has rebranded and is now the North Dakota Domestic & Sexual Violence Coalition. The release says it made the change to better communicate their mission to the community, so they can “spend less time explaining who they are and more time advocating for victims and survivors in North Dakota.” The group says it also updated its website to more effectively connect with those affected by domestic and sexual violence.
