Bismarck Man Arrested For Parking Lot Assault

(Bismarck, ND) — A Bismarck man is facing multiple charges for allegedly assaulting a man in a restaurant parking lot over the weekend. The incident began at a bus stop on Saturday evening, when 40-year-old Derek Kidder saw another man receive a text message from his girlfriend. Kidder then punched the man, who retreated into the parking lot of the nearby Walrus restaurant. The attacker reportedly pulled out a knife and continued to chase him. Kidder was arrested the following day and is currently being held in the Burleigh Morton Detention Center.
