Bismarck Man Charged With Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Minor

(Bismarck, ND) — Authorities say a Bismarck man is facing charges after he allegedly shared child sexual abuse material through Snapchat. Bismarck Police arrested Christopher Stoken on December 6th after they received an online tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Police say Stoken told them he believed he’d been speaking with a teenage girl, and had talked about the possibility of kidnapping and raping her. He’s been charged with two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a minor. Stoken is being held on 25-thousand dollars’ cash bond and has a trial date scheduled for April.
