Bismarck Man Sets Home On Fire During Arrest

(Bismarck, ND) — Police say a Bismarck man set his home on fire when officers went to arrest him on felony warrants on Wednesday. It happened at a home on South Ninth Street, where police say Matthew Odegard barricaded himself in a room, refused to follow commands from officers, and started a fire during negotiations. He eventually crawled out through a window and was taken to a hospital to be treated for burns and smoke inhalation. Police say Odegard could face additional charges.
