(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota Supreme Court has overturned a Bismarck woman’s 2023 murder conviction. Rolanda Doyle is serving a life sentence for murder and child abuse in the death of her five-year-old nephew, Geremy Doyle. Doyle is accused of neglect that led to the child’s death, but the court has ruled that there were issues with State Forensic Examiner Dr. Barrie Miller’s proof of qualification for her testimony at the trial, and that the judge shouldn’t have allowed the testimony. The case will now proceed in district court.
