BNSF Railroad Bridge Construction Begins This Summer

(Bismarck, ND) — Railroad company officials say construction of the new BNSF rail bridge between Mandan and Bismarck will ramp up this summer. Crews will build bridge piers along the banks of the river, and some parts of the bridge may be hoisted into place. The project will replace the historic rail bridge that has been in use since 1883. A North Dakota Supreme Court decision on whether to leave the historic bridge in place is still pending.
