Body Found In River Identified

(Valley City, ND) — Officials have identified the body of a man found near Valley City. The body was pulled from the Sheyenne River last week, and police asked for the public’s help in making an identification. Since then, authorities have confirmed the body was that of 22-year-old Minnesota resident Branden Elias, who went missing from the town of Independence on July 17th. A cause of death has not been released, and a death investigation is currently ongoing. Anyone with information on Branden’s death is asked to contact the Valley City Police Department.
