(Bismarck, ND) — Fall weather means it’s Boxelder Bug season in North Dakota. While the cooler temperatures kill off typical summertime pests like wasps and mosquitos, they also drive another type of insect indoors, called Boxelder Bugs. These harmless orange and black bugs are around all year, but are most noticeable indoors in the fall months as they seek warmer temperatures. Experts say think before you stomp — they can stain surfaces if stepped on. Sealing up doors, windows, and any small cracks or holes in your home is the best way to keep them outside.
