(Bismarck, ND) — Students, ag workers, and the formerly incarcerated are getting the opportunity to contribute more to North Dakota’s economy. Governor Doug Burgum recently signed three bills aimed at addressing the state’s workforce challenges. College students meeting enrollment and GPA requirements will be eligible for scholarships to apprenticeship programs. A new H2A Visa Program will allow employers to hire non-immigrant foreign staff on a temporary or seasonal basis. State funding will also go toward connecting recently or soon-to-be-released ex-offenders with in-demand jobs in the state
