Chemical Spill In McKenzie County

(Alexander, ND) — More than 300-thousand gallons of magnesium chloride was spilled in McKenzie County last week. According to the Department of Environmental Quality, it happened when a chemical tank failed near Alexander. The spill affected agricultural land and the Lonesome Creek watershed. It was one of three spills that happened in the state last week, as a crude oil spill was reported in Billings County, and a produced water spill was reported in Burke County.
